There are several physical locations for children's and young adult literature in the Heartland Library. The children's collection is located by the DVDs to the right of the book shelves that house the library collection. They are shelved alphabetically by book title order.
Young adult literature can be found in the book shelves beginning with call numbers that start with PZ 4, include PZ 7 & PZ 7.1, and end with PZ 7.7 which are young adult graphic novels.
The graphic novel collection can be found on the book shelves beginning with the call numbers PN 6710 and ending with manga in PN 6790.
You can search the library catalog by subject as well. Click Advanced Search, then select the Subject filter and add your search terms. There are several subject headings linked to the search results below as well. On the search results page you can click on Books under Resource Type to see just books that are available in our physical library.
This video tutorial explains how to search and requests books that are not available at the Heartland Library. By searching I-Share, you can request a book to be shipped from another library to the Heartland Library for you to pick up. This is also known as Interlibrary Loan or ILL.
