Pick From Shelf List

The Pick From Shelf List, also known as the Pick List, shows you the materials in your library that have been requested by our patrons, other HCC campuses, or other libraries throughout the state

BASIC WORKFLOW

  1. To view and manage the pick list, select "Pick From Shelf" from the Fulfillment menu.
    1. The Pick Up Requested Resources screen will appear.

  1. At this time there is no easy way to print a complete list.  Your options are:
    1. Write a quick list of your own and pull items from there (title, call#, barcode) - This will save a lot of paper!!
    2. Print individual pick slips by opening the "More actions" ellipsis menu (…)
and selecting "Print Slip" from the options menu.  Those slips will pop up as pdf documents you can print individually.

  1. Use your picklist or pick slips to locate and retrieve the requested items.

  1. Once you have gathered up the items on the pick list and brought them to your work station, select "Scan In Items" from the Fulfillment menu.
The Scan In Items screen will open. Scan in the picked items’ barcodes in the "Scan item barcode" field.
    1. Destination Slips will pop-up as a pdf document for each item as it is scanned in. Print these documents for each item.
    2. Item destinations and other details will also appear below the entry fields.

  1. Match the destination Slips with the items.  Fold the Slips in half vertically and put them in the books/DVDs with the three-letter location slip at the top.

  1. Place them in the Blue X area on the center island

  1. If anything looks unusual with the process (i.e.  Route to another campus, HCC patron, who knows)
    1. Stop what you are doing at any stage in the process
    2. Put a date and initialed note with the item detailing the problem in Erin’s mailbox.
